Rufus Wainwright Saint Paul Concert reviews
Doobie Bros 50th Year Concert
In 1973, as a sophomore in high school, I first started listening to the Doobie Brothers. Their first album, autographed by Tom Johnston in the early 80's in Del Mar, CA, I still have. Over 30 times or more combined, I've seen the Doobie Brothers and Michael McDonald over the years. Fortunately, I even went to their "farewell" tour in 1982 (which wasn't). Amongst the very best, this concert in Phoenix that I just experienced was (they played all of their classics and then some). Kind of like a family reunion that warms the heart, it was so great to see them all back together once again. Like a fine wine refining their craft, these guys have done nothing but gotten better as musicians and artists over the years and are so very deserving of their place in the R & R HOF induction in 2026 (what took so long?). Patrick Simmons, by the way, Happy Birthday today to him, is mostly in their 70's. Treat yourselves to a great musical experience if they are coming through your town on this tour. You won't regret it. These guys are special.
